Karen Blixen is located on a farm at the base of the Ngongo Hills, it is named after its owner Karen Blixen wife to Baron von Blixen, the farm is 30 km from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta international airport, 1937 Karen Blixen published ” out of Africa” a book that which was later filmed by Sydney pollacks film by the same name, which began by “I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong hills”
Karen lived on a farm of 4500 acres, with 600 acres of coffee farming farm 1914 to 1931, later the farm was bought by Remy Marin who broke the land into 20 acres the danish government purchased it and gave it to Kenya as an independence gift in 1964
now Kenya use the land for a museum
after breakfast, you will depart for Karen Blixen Museum 30 km from Jomo Kenyatta airport upon arrival you will be picked up by a professional tour guide who will escort you to the museum let an insight look into the history and the legacy of Kenya, the guide will share all ins and outs of the museum, visit the coffee plantation later exit the museum and return to the hotel
