Mt Kilimanjaro Rongai Route

Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world; Uhuru peak is the highest point. This mountain has 3 distinct volcanic cones: Kibo at 19,340 ft (5895 m), Mawenzi at 16,869 ft. (5149 m) and Shira at 13,000 ft. (3962 m). Kibo is dormant while Mawenzi and Shira are extinct .The last eruption was 360,000 years ago.
